Roy Wrankle Obituary

Roy Allen Wrankle, 77, passed away March 22, 2009 after a long and difficult battle with cancer. Roy was born Sept. 14, 1931 in Los Angeles, CA. Roy spent his life in service to others. This service included 4 years in the Navy serving our country during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, he met and married Nancy Dailey on May 9, 1959, and soon after they moved to Palm Springs. Roy served the city of Palm Springs as a fireman for the Palm Springs Fire Department for over 9 years. He left the fire department to build his yard maintenance and landscaping business, which he loved. He created beauty in any yard space he had the opportunity to work with. Roy also served as a Bishop for the Church of Latter Day Saints for 6 1/2 years. Roy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Wrankle of the desert and his children; Brad Wrankle, Cheri Hazen and son-in-law, Lee of Temecula, CA; Russell Wrankle and daughter-in-law Lori of Toquerville, UT; and Laura Hight and son-in-law Rob of Spokane, WA. Roy and Nancy also have 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 72960 Parkview Ave., Palm Desert, CA on Friday, March 27th at 10:00 A.M.

Nancy,
I am writing to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family at this time. I was so very sad to hear about the passing Bishop Wrankle's, he was such a wonderful man.
I had the pleasure of working with him on many Church assignment. We didn't always agree on the way things were done. I always loved and respected him. I will remember & think of him often.
