Sally Majidian Obituary

Sally Jo Majidian

May 27, 1962 - February 14, 2020

Celebration of Life will be held at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage (37977 Bob Hope Drive) at 10:30 a.m.

Sally Jo Majidian, born in Bend, Oregon and raised in the Pacific Northwest, passed away on February 14, 2020. She will be deeply missed by her children, by her family, and by all those who were on the receiving end of her infectious laugh, heart-warming smile and selfless care for others.

Sally was born on May 27, 1962, to Paul and Peggy Stenkamp. She was the youngest of their two children. Only a generation removed from grandparents who had emigrated to the United States from Germany, Sally was the product of a father who learned the necessity of hard work and sacrifice from an early age. Accordingly, she was imbued with fortitude and a never-give-up quality of her personality. Once she put her mind to a task, she did not quit.

Sally graduated from Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver, Washington. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington before attending and graduating from the University of Washington Medical School. Her chosen career path in medicine was Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was gifted with an innate ability to communicate with anyone from any walk of life or any educational background and make them feel like an equal. What a wonderful gift to be instantly able to make those around you feel valued and cherished.

She was also an accomplished athlete, having completed the Boston Marathon and an Iron Man Triathlon. In later years, cycling became her passion, and she excelled to become a fierce competitor. She was never happier than when she was on her bike surrounded by like-minded people. She was thankful that the group took her in, nourished her, supported her, loved her!

Sally was a devoted mother, always putting the needs of her children before her own. She raised two wonderful children - Mandy Majidian, who is 26 and following her mother's footsteps studying medicine at Tulane University and Eric Majidian, who is 23 and will graduate from Chico State in May.

Survivors include her children Mandy and Eric, her mother Peggy Stenkamp, and her brother Patrick. She also leaves behind two nieces, Sophia and Paula Stenkamp.

I have been updating my addresses and came across Sally's name. Looked her up online and learned of her passing. Although, we lost touch over the year, I have some wonderful memories of Sally. Her son, Eric, and my son, Mitchell, (aka Batman and Robin) were best of friends in preschool. While they were at preschool, Sally and I often would play tennis at the local Galt courts. Sally was a beautiful soul, and I have always missed our friendship. I am so sorry for the family's loss. I know she is missed deeply.

I’m sad to hear of Sally’s passing.
Our daughters attended grammar school together and were friends. Sally was a dedicated mother and caring person. Praying for comfort for her children and family. God has another angel.

Sally was such a lovely person. She substituted for my second graders when my brother died unexpectedly. They liked her better than me! I loved her loud laugh and big personality. I will remember her in my heart.
