It was an honor to have known Steve even if it was only through the computer and our love of the VMax. His kindness, wit, and sense of humor warmed my heart and made me smile everytime I read something he had written. His passing deaply saddened me and I will ride with him in my heart from this day on. My thoughts and prayers are with those he left behind.

The dog park was always brighter somehow when Steve was there. He was one of the first people we actually knew by name (rather than by his dog's name). He was easy to talk to, and the dogs just loved him! During our conversations he'd have to stoop several times to attend to dogs coming by for their share of petting. More than once, people mistook our Indiana to be his dog, because Indy obviously adored Steve (and Sarah too). If only there were more people like Steve! We'll miss him.

Cathy,
words can not express how sorry I am for the lose of Steve. I never had the chance to met him in person but I knew all about him from Kevin and the rest of the family as well as the stories you told. The famliy truely loved him and had a great life with him growing up. I wish that day came when the family got back together so I could say I knew him personally. We all know how much he loved you and jake.We will all miss him he very much but he is now at peace and with his son again. Our ears and hands are ALWAYS open for you when you need us. We all love you Cathy very much.

Grandpa,
How we loved you, and everything you let us get away with as your grandkids. We got to lick you face, sleep in your bed, mess up your computer games when we wanted your love and attention, when we sat on Sarah because she didn't need your attention, we needed your attention.

We loved and will never forget our walks at the chark, the dog park when no one else was there, going for rides in the truck, and finally we went to the dog park with everyone else, and met all your friends, and our new dog friends.

We will never forget our grandpa.
Slobber, licks, shake paw, and jumps,
Buddy and Kiwi

Cathy,
Thought I would leave the last PM I sent Steve after his passing, As it came from my heart.

Steve,

You are going to be a Great Loss to your friends and family.
I only spoke to you on the phone and via this site.
Even though I was not Fortunate Enough to meet you in person, I feel like you have been a very good friend to me.
There were so many times you made me laugh, and I mean Really Laugh. Not to mention the favors you did for me !
Unfortunately this site is going to be a far less enjoyable place for me !

If I could have one wish right now ?
It would be to have you answer this PM.

Cathy,

If you read this PM ? My Deepest Sympathy to You and Your Family.

Sincerely,
Mark

Cathy, Steve will be remembered for the compassionate and friendly man he was. The loss of your son was a blow to him. It must be aweful to loose both a son and a husband in so short a period of time. Our hearts go out to you. We hope you'll find support and comfort in our words and in the love of your family and friends.

I will, and have, missed you dearly, my friend. Nobody ever made me laugh and smile the way you did, and my online gaming passion has faded a bit since you've left. I'm glad that I was able to talk you into buying the Triumph, so that you could enjoy something you loved so much, and then tell me about it later. You'll always have a spot on my team. Love, VooDoo

Our hearts are saddened by the loss of Steve Pearly. Sympathies are extended to Cathy and the family. What can be said of Steve....he had a big heart! He was a friend not only to our sons but to us also. Brian & I will treasure the fun we all had on the lake last September in Lake Havasu City, AZ. You will be in our thoughts as we cruise the lake again this year. Steve, we know that you are at peace with Jacob...you will be missed my friend!

We are lucky to have known you!

Cathy, Steve (AKA "The Pearl") to many of us who knew him through online gaming, will definitely be leaving a void in our hearts. His quick wit was always welcome at any online gaming, or just a BS session. I'll never forget the first time I met him online... I actually thought I was talking to a 16 or 17 year old kid! He just never made it through puberty I guess :^) When Steve told me how old he actually was, I was pretty shocked to say the least. We came to be good friends online, and actually exchanged photographs of various airshows that we attended. I still am having a hard time believing he has passed away. My thoughts are with you Cathy. All I can say is, things must be getting pretty intense and a bit too serious upstairs, and that's why Steve was needed up there... there's definitely going to be a lot more light hearted laughter in Heaven with Steve up there... and Cathy, Thanks for "Sharing" him with us while he was here... We love him too

To Steve's family and friends,
My heartfelt and most sincere condolences on your loss. I became friends with Steve after we discovered we had something in common - the loss of our sons. Despite his pain, his words to me were always uplifting and brought me comfort when I needed it the most. I hope that I, too, was able to help him through his darkest days. I'm comforted to know that he and his son are now together, knowing how much they missed each other.
My heart is broken by his passing.

May his memory always bring a smile to your faces.

We were honored to be a part of today's memorial service for our friend, Steve. Steve's dog park friends will be at the dog park tonight and I will bring Sarah along. We are working on finding out how we can get the new dog park named in Steve's honor. Cathy says he would like that. We and the dogs miss Steve every day. He was an important part of our evenings and no one will ever be able to give each dog his due the way Steve could.

I am a friend of Steve (Pearl) Pearly from the 214th, we used to spend time online flying together. He was a really fun guy to talk to and fly with, and he had this knack for pulling someone out of a funky mood and making you laugh. Trust me he will be missed by me and the rest of the squad.
Now he is free to fly without a computer.

I am sorry to learn of Mr. Pearly's death. I remember him so well, volunteering to help Jake construct a superstructure outside the stage walls for the LQHS production of Hamlet, which won many awards. One of the awards was for Set Design; without Jake and his dad's help, I doubt we would have won that. The day they set that up, the love and regard they had for each other was evident. RIP, Mr. Pearly. Sincerely, SherryWollenberg, Jake's theater teacher.
