Andrea and Wolgang- So sorry to hear about our Uncles passing. Uncle Bill as we called him was a talented artistic man but more importantly was a great husband and father to Andrea and Wolfie. I have fond memories of him as a child when he'd come to visit us in Illinois and we'd visit him on his farm in Iowa.

Andrea and Wolfie want you to know you are in our prayers as you move through this most difficult time. John Kohl -nephew of Bill.

I graduated University City High School with William Kohl, however, I never got to know him. Upon reading his obituary and guest book replies, I think I missed a lot.
To take a line from Derek Brown "I offer my condolences, thoughts and prayers to the whole family.

I just sent this message to Aaron, but will post it here as well:

I was a student of Bill's at College of the Desert for several years around 2002 to 2005. I heard about his passing yesterday and wanted to offer my condolences.
I attended Art Center College of Design following my time at COD, but no instructor there had impacted my life like Bill did. He was key in my formation as an artist. He built up my ability to draw, but most importantly my ability to see. He was the first to take me seriously as an artist and in doing so, gave me the encouragement and confidence that I wouldn't have had otherwise.
After taking all of his classes the maximum amount that the school would allow, he created independent study courses for me to continue learning with him. I will always be thankful too him and will continue to owe my life as an artist to him.
Again, I offer my condolences, thoughts, and prayers to the whole family
Sincerely,
Derek Brown
