Alexander Lamarche Obituary

Alexander MacArthur Lamarche

Aug 23, 1942 - Apr 28, 2025

Alexander MacArthur Lamarche, 82 years old, died at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, Texas on April 28, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 2, at 10 a.m.

Alex was born in New York City on August 23, 1942, and moved to Peru when he was six months old. From there he lived in Argentina and, at age seven, moved to Brazil. He was fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, always happy when he met someone he could converse with in those languages. He and his wife Donna moved to Bryan, Texas in 1977. His first job in Texas was with a dental lab, from there he was Manager at Briarcrest Country Club for several years, then was employed at Texas A&M in the Food Service Department as one of their managers, where after many years of service he retired. He was very involved with Brazos Sheriff as a reserve deputy. His time with the Sheriffs Office was some of the best times of his life and he retired reluctantly after 25 years of service.

Alex is survived by his wife, Donna; his son, Mark and grandchildren, Eli and Olivia; and son Michael; his sister, Martha Lamarche (husband Bruce Long); niece, Veronica (daughters Finley and Bentley) and nephew Joseph.

After his retirement from Texas A&M one of his favorite things to do was to spend time with his special needs son. He was a wonderful husband and father.

Donna and Micheal,
I think about you guys occasionally since Micheal literally outgrew my practice. Your husband(Dad) was a man of grace, humor and strength. I have had few parents that could measure up to the love and dedication that you show every day. It was an honor to know Alex.

My heartfelt condolences to all of you. I feel like the Lord guided me to Alex's room in ICU so I could hug Donna and Michael and tell Alex how important he had been in so many people's lives, including mine.
My love to you and may Alex rest in peace.
