It is almost impossible to describe in words what my grandpa meant to me. The countless times he provided me with the right answers to my life’s problems, how he could just put his hand on my shoulder and look into my eyes and a calmness would just come over me, how his voice seems to quiet everyone near so they could just hear him talk. Now most of the talk was just creative stories which Grandpa made up but nonetheless we were all ears and after those great stories where he always received that smile he was searching for.
This man was the greatest of Dads and Grandpa’s. I can honestly say over my 35 years I have never had a bad moment with him, even when he had to whip me, I would just say I had that one coming.
Many might hear about the last moments we spent with grandpa but what some might not have seen is the complete family bond during these moments. Our grandpa was being held by all his family. Hands touching him from head to toe, speaking words of overpowering love for the life that he shared with us. Thanking him for all the love he provide without judgment. I was never more proud of my family then at that moment.
Grandpa has touch many people’s lives and we are blessed he could do so but what makes me the proud grandson I am, is the family values he has placed within our family. I hope my grandpa has influenced everyone here in some great way, as he did for me. I only ask of you all to honor my grandpa by sharing these stories, lessons, and gifts of encouragement with your loved ones or anyone who just needs a smile. Grandpa you are my hero and I will honor you by teaching my children everything you have thought me. I love you and I will never forget you.

My heart is in such deep sorrow for yours and my family. I didn't have the opportunity to meet my cousin "Bo", but I do remember all the talk from Aunt Myrtle and grandma Bryson and my mother "Dot". We have lost 3 family members since 29 Apr 2011, one on Friday (Aunt Myrtle Bryson), one on Sat, (cousin "BO") and my sister, (Linda Louise Devers, your cousin). All good people, taken to soon. God bless our family.

I remember seeing Bo taking care of Aaron, his grandson, when my husband and I were new neighbors, almost 19 years ago. I told him how great I thought it was that he took such good care of Aaron, taking him for a walk in his stroller every day. With that trademark twinkle in his eye, Bo told me he couldn't wait until Aaron was old enough to get him a beer from the fridge to take along on their daily walk. He loved to laugh and to make the rest of us laugh with him! He was so easy to talk to and such a fine person. It will be hard to think of his light shining from somewhere else from now on. But we know that light can never go out.
