Bart Humphreys Obituary

July 8, 1952 - August 18, 2015 Bart Lee Humphreys, 63, passed away Tuesday August 18th in Bryan. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29th at the Brayton Fire Training Field in the Henry D. Smith Building.

Bart was born July 8, 1952 in San Antonio the son of Byron and Juanita (Wallace) Humphreys. Bart dedicated and committed his life serving for College Station Fire Department. He retired one year ago after 35 years of service. Bart was a natural teacher and a collecter of knowledge. Bart had a calming presence. He never met a stranger and made everyone feel comfortable. He enjoyed watching all Texas football teams, especially the Aggies.

Bart is preceded in death by his parents and special niece, Emily Ruth.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ava (Chadbourne) Humphreys of Bryan; sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Joanna Humphreys of West Allis, Wisconsin, Andrew and Kristina Humphreys, James Humphreys all of Bryan; sisters, Betty Jo Wilson of Killeen, Donna Reagan of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Abigail, Isaac and Neil Humphreys.

Bart was truly loved by his family and he will be missed dearly by all.. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the College Station Professional Firefighters Association, 100 Club or charity of donors choice.
