Bessie Albina Krc, 96, of Bryan, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Manor in Bryan, TX, after the onset of a debilitating illness earlier in the year. 

Bessie was born on July 28, 1927, to John R. and Josephine Hanus in Bryan. She was raised on a small farm near the Brazos River Bottom, assisting her family with everyday chores as well as the annual cotton harvest. Bessie attended Smetana Community School, and met the love of her life, Edwin Krc; whom she married in 1948. Bessie was a full-time homemaker that enjoyed cooking meals, baking for family and friends, making clothing from scratch with paper patterns, and assisting her husband with various chores around the homestead. 

Bessie was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. Bessie and Edwin renewed their wedding vows at their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1998. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters; and sons, Edwin F. Krc Jr. and Dennis A. Krc. 

Bessie is survived by her son, Daniel E. Krc and wife, Penny of Bryan; daughter, Cynthia A. Milberger and husband, Joseph of Caldwell; daughter-in-law, Helene Krc of Bryan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren residing in the surrounding area and out-of-state. 

Special thanks to staff at CHI Regional Hospital, St. Joseph Manor & Rehabilitation, and home caregivers that have assisted with Bessie's care. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m., Friday, August 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. 

Pallbearers will be Joseph Brandesky, Jerry Hejl, George Constancio, William Walters, Ryan Weber, and Russel Weber. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Regmund and Alan Rogers.
