Bobbie McGuire Obituary

November 27, 1932 - January 12, 2011

Bobbie Ann McGuire, 78, of Bryan, passed away on January 12, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, at Central Church of Christ in Bryan. Burial will follow at Steep Hollow Cemetery.

Bobbie was born November 27, 1932 in Concord, Texas. She graduated from Centerville High School and married Mike McGuire on August 9, 1950. Bobbie was a loving wife and wonderful mother to their three children. Nana loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She devoted her life to spending time with each one of them, and each one knew how special they were to her. Nana will always be remembered by her grandchildren as a loving Nana who would read to them, swing them on a swing, play cards with them, and play with them when they had all night sleep-overs. It thrilled her to see them play together because as she put it, "It made them stay close." Nothing made Nana happier than to have her family together. Nana loved God and was an example of a true Christian lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Vessie Winchester; 3 sisters, Dorothy Singleton, Opal Mosley, and Margaret Payne; and one grandson Brad Bomnskie.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Mike McGuire; son, Wayne McGuire and wife, Martica; daughters, Debbie Bomnskie and husband, Ray, and Carmen Januse and husband, Frank; ten grandchildren, Courtnie Willis and husband Clint, Brent Bomnskie and wife Jamie, Landon McGuire and wife Candy, Brooke Avery and husband Andrew, Niki Pratt and husband Taylor, Brandy Hall and husband Kenny, Britnie Halfmann and husband Shane, Jeff Januse and wife Amber, Jordan Januse and fiancé Madison, and Alexie McGuire; 19 great-grandchildren, plus 2 more on the way.

Memorials may be made to Gospel Broadcasting Network 3969 Cloudsprings Rd, Ringgold, Ga 30736-9409 or to the American Liver Foundation Houston Chapter 4545 East Shea Ste 164, Phoenix, Arizona 85028.
