Bonita Cheryl Cook (Bonny), aged 78, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025 in College Station, TX. Born on January 16, 1947 in Pasadena, TX, she dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for children, both as a beloved preschool teacher and as a devoted aunt to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Bonny was known for both reading and her passion for collecting treasures that brought her joy and meaning. Early in life, she built a grand collection of dolls, cherishing each one. Later, she discovered her love for chickens and delighted in curating a unique and cherished chicken collection.

She had a deep appreciation for Amish craftsmanship and lifestyle, often admiring the beauty and tradition of their creations, and she loved savoring German cuisine, especially dishes like sauerkraut. Bonny was also a talented artist in her own right, frequently creating holiday ornaments, sewing decorative pillows, and other making heartfelt crafts that brought warmth and beauty to those around her.

Her sarcastic and playful side often brought laughter and joy to those around her while her kind and thoughtful nature left a lasting impression on everyone she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine Gertrude Vorderbruggen and Luther Leon Cook, as well as her youngest sister, Donna Puente. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Rice (spouse Will), nieces Marcia Montague (spouse Robert), Carmen Mota, and Sharah Puente (spouse Alex Cisneros), her two nephews, Louis Johnson (spouse Amy) and Carl Johnson (spouse Kimberly), and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who cherished time spent with her.

Her humor and thoughtful spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
