Charles Bostock Obituary

November 20, 1928 - July 6, 2007

Charles O. "Chuck" Bostock passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 in Georgetown, Texas. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 19 at First United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Interment was at Vernon Cemetery in Bentonsport, Iowa. Local services are entrusted to Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown.

Chuck was born November 20, 1928 in Bentonsport, Iowa, to William O. and Helen M. (Snyder) Bostock. He married to Darlene F. Scanlan on February 29, 1952. They moved to Texas in 1973 and he became the administrator of the Crestview Nursing Home in Bryan. In 1979, they moved to Georgetown where he became the administrator of Wesleyan Homes Inc., from which he retired in 1989. His soul mate, Darlene, passed away in 1985. Darlene was a tireless volunteer at Wesleyan Homes Inc. and founded many charitable activities that are still in operation today.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Bostock; sister, Mary Ida Pilkington; cousins, Gerald and Keith Bostock; son, Craig T. Calhoun; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Radel; sons, Mike Bostock, Mike, Rick, Clay and Bob Calhoun; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
