Charles Darling Obituary

DARLING, Charles Ray

Charles Ray Darling, age 69, gained his angel wings at his childhood home on November 27th, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on July 20th, 1955 to Helen Forstoff Darling and Ray Buchanon Darling in Bryan, Texas.

Charles wore many hats in his lifetime as a loving husband, father, grandfather, public servant, and rancher. He served 18 years with the Caldwell Police Department before retiring to take over the Darling Brangus Ranch that he was raised on.

Charles leaves behind his loving wife, Rox Ann; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Marie and Lasse Larsen; and grandchildren, Havyn Rae Larsen, Cayden Kirk, and Svava Larsen, all of whom lived and helped him on the ranch. He also leaves behind his step-sons, Steven Dix and wife Skye, Brandon Dix and wife Sara, and grandchildren Victor and Christie from South Carolina, as well as two other grandchildren, Lorelie Larsen of Utah, and Colton Darling of Bryan, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Forstoff Darling and Ray Buchanon Darling; his sister Constance Hope Darling; and his brother James Buchanon Darling.

A memorial service is planned for Thursday, December 12th, 2024 at 2:00pm, with a meet and greet with the family at 1:00pm. A private burial will take place at Kurten Cemetery after the service.

Charles was a rancher through and through, and dressing up was not something he enjoyed doing. With that being said, please feel free to join us in casual wear with jeans and maroon, hunter green, or navy blue attire, as those were his favorite colors.
