Mr Cofer was a blessing for our family throughout many years. He advised our father (Milton Gooden) on many issues. His honesty and integrity was always in the forefront of his dealings. After many years of military service, I came to visit with him alongside my father, established a cordial friendship, and was able to just sit and talk with Mr Cofer in his office area whenever I was in Bryan. To the family; Thank you for allowing our family to be a part of your family for many years through these two fine men of stature. May God richly bless you all.

D. Brooks Cofer - such an entertaining and intriguing District Attorney who showed me the courtroom ropes when I became an adult/juvenile probation officer in January 1970. I would not have made it through those many trials, hearings and court dockets without his guidance and belief in me. Thanks, Brooks, for being there.

Ann, I never met your dad but one day while I was at the Cofer Law Office I overheard him fussing about something; hearing him go on about whatever it was actually made me smile and giggle inside. From that, I know he was a charasmatic, gracious, caring, loving and important man to many; I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My greatest sympathy to the Cofer family.
Besides being a great friend and lawyer for my family and me, a few years ago, the chivalrous Mr. Cofer, assisted me, I became physically
disabled, down his office walkway and to my car.
He never ceased to be a gentleman, even when his body was settling down.
He will be truly missed.
