Enrique Hernandez Obituary

Rev. Enrique "Henry" Hernandez Sr.

August 16, 1939 - February 28, 2023

Reverend Enrique "Henry" Hernandez Sr., 83, passed away February 28, 2023.

God's faithful servant, Henry was a servant to everyone he met and was always loving, giving, and humble. He was born in Harlingen, Texas, grew up in Hearne and met his wife, Santos, at the Chapman Theater. They moved to Bryan in 1970 and over the years, enjoyed traveling to New York in 1995 and taking several cruises with family and fishing trips with the sons. He always enjoyed spending time with all his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his church family

Henry worked at Crane Plumbing in Hearne for 40 years, he was a Sunday School teacher for 15 years, and a Pentecostal Pastor for 20 years. He loved to counsel people and pray for all their needs. A very caring and selfless person, he influenced many others with his positive nature. His favorite Bible verse was "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Philippians 4:13. He ministered in Sherwood Nursing Home and Brazos County Jail, leading people to Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Seferino and Consuelo Hernandez; grandson, Nicholas Daniel Hernandez; great-grandsons, Micah and Elijah Saenz; sister, Mary Gonzalez; brother, Reverend Edward Hernandez; and son-in-law, John D. Silva.

Henry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Santos Montelongo Hernandez; children, Mary Jane Silva (John), Henry Hernandez Jr. ( Alice) of Waxahachie, Texas, Daniel Hernandez (Celia), Elizabeth Alderete (Ray Sr.), Isaac Hernandez (Maria), Charlie Hernandez (Sally), and Dina Revilla (Robert) all from Bryan, Texas; 28 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, from 6-9 p.m., with a Service to take place at 7 p.m., at Hillier of BRYAN. A Celebration of Life will take place at 10 a.m., on Sunday, March 5, at Sulamita Iglesia Evangelica followed by a Graveside Service at Bryan City Cemetery.

The family wishes to acknowledge the special care given by St. Joseph Hospital, Brazos Valley Hospice, and Crestview Nursing Home.

In lieu of flowers, contact the Hernandez family for memorial contributions.
