Fey Gipson Obituary
Fey was born on April 26, 1954 in Orleans, France while her father and mother, Sergeant First Class J.B. and Ouida Goodwin, were stationed there. But she got to Texas as soon as possible. A true Texan at heart, she spent the rest of her life there making friends along the way in Refugio, Beaumont, Victoria, Austin, College Station and many, many other places.
After graduating from Refugio High School, she went on to complete her studies at Sam Houston State University hand-in-hand with her loving husband and high school sweetheart, Ronnie "Hitter" Gipson. They married August 4, 1972. They shared a life exemplified by love – to God, to each other, and to many foster children and friends.
Although she worked many years in nursing homes and trauma centers as a caseworker, her favorite job was that of homemaker, wife and mother. She was devoted to her family and loved entertaining, especially during the holidays when her door was open to everyone.
There will be a memorial service at First Baptist Church in College Station on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 3 p.m. A private burial in her hometown of Refugio, Texas is planned for a later date.
Her Daddy's, J.B. Goodwin and Price Johnson precede Fey in death.
Survivors are her beloved husband, Ronnie Gipson; a son, Josh Gipson and wife, Kathryn; daughters, Leah and Rebekah Gipson; foster children, Anthony Cook, Beatrice Lawhorn and Logan Brown; her beloved mother, Ouida Johnson; her brother, James Johnson and wife, Cindy; sister, Donna Johnson and her partner, Karen Sutton; as well as many, many foster children.
Fey has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Emmanuel Lighthouse Mission, ELMS, P.O. Box 4513, Bryan, TX 77805.
To those that missed knowing her in this life, she invites you to learn about Christ and come have long chat over some cold iced tea in Heaven. It's sure to be a party you don't want to miss.

Dear Fey's family, I loved the picture you posted of Fey. She was glowing in this picture just as she is now but with a heavenly glow. I still remember the pain and sympathy in her voice when she called me about my Mom. I truly hate we did not get to visit over the past years and that we could not make it to Texas to pay our respects. I hope she knew she will always have a place in our hearts and we will miss her. Ronnie & Family,
I met Fey when I was just a baby Christian through a Bible Study Group. She was the most joyful and funny person I have ever known. Im saddened to hear of your loss BUT I know Fey had such a strong faith in Christ and is now happy in the arms of her Heavenly Father. May God give you peace that surpasses all understanding and comfort in your time of grief.
