Gladys Toines Obituary

July 17, 1939 – Dec.16, 2009

Gladys Marie Toines, 70, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at her residence. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Jones-Washington Mortuary. Services are set for 11 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at Jones-Washington Mortuary Chapel with Rev. U. L. Green, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Gladys was born July 17, 1939 in Steele Store Community, to J D and Sallie Toines. She enjoyed cooking. Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, and five brothers.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Toines, Shunn Blackshire; brothers, Luther Lee Garner and wife, Angela, of San Diego, CA.; sisters, Annie Hollians and husband, Daniel, of Dallas, Texas; Nancy Johnson of Bryan, Texas; Linda Washington and husband, C. H. Washington, of Bryan, Texas; Brenda McKinney, Hazel Garner, both of Dallas, Texas; Ruby Murphy and Sallie Macklin, both of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends and special friends, Nancy and Larry Whitlock, and Nickie Rodriquez.
