Jarrell Currie Obituary
June 27, 1975 - June 25, 2016
Jarrell Jason Currie, 40, was born June 27, 1975 in Bryan, Texas to Jarrell Currie and Deborah Williamson. Jason died tragically on June 25, 2016. He was a father, brother, son, loyal friend, mechanic, paint & body expert and lover of all things with a motor.
Jason was a lifelong resident of the Brazos Valley. Growing up his Mom nourished his belly while his Dad nourished his love for mechanics. Starting at a very young age, he along with his friends, spent nights and weekends in garages, building and painting on their constantly "under construction" toys. Jason quickly learned that his skill set was beyond that of just making something sound good and go fast, but he could also make it look good. He took his talents to Texas State Technical College in Waco, where he graduated with an Associate Degree in Auto Paint and Body. He came back to Bryan and became a well-known paint and body man and mechanic in our community. His true passion was in customizing vehicles and motorcycles. In 1996, Jason married his high school sweetheart, Whitney Lawless. This union brought about his greatest joy and accomplishment ever, a son, Cooper Reed Currie.
His love for his family, friends, music, Chevys, Harleys and red nosed pit bull dogs are just a few things he will be remembered by. Jason was a loyal friend to many and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Preceded in death by grandparents Howard and Eula Currie; grandfather Ray Williamson; grandfather J.W. Richie; uncle Ron Williamson; cousin Becky Sandel. Survived by son Cooper Currie; father Jarrell Currie and wife Debi Currie; mother Deborah Williamson; brother Jerry Currie and fiancé Kelly Marino; grandmother Margie Richie; aunts and uncles Jessie and Zandra Currie, Kenneth and Beth Williamson, Carol and Duwayne Sandel; nieces Shelbi Currie, Sydney Christian, Kaitlyn Pledger; cousins Robin Williamson and Jessica Vidal; special friend Dena Patterson.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Antioch Community Church, 1803 Briarcrest Dr, Bryan, Texas.
Memorial Account for Jason Currie is set up at Aggieland Credit Union.
