Mary Lednicky Obituary
Mary Lednicky, 84, of Lyons, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at Snook Brethren Church in Snook, with Rev. Joseph Polasek officiating. Burial will follow in the Snook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11 and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 12, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, in Caldwell.
Mary was born March 19, 1924 in Danville, Texas to Aubrey and Ophelia Westmoreland. She graduated from Willis High School in 1941. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator. On December 23, 1967 Mary married Clem Lednicky, Sr. in Snook, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Lednicky were involved with the Salt Grass Trail Ride organizing the Somerville Yegua Riders.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Ophelia Westmoreland and one brother, William Mark Westmoreland, two brothers-in-law, Orval Neelen and Kie Belinowski, and one grandchild, Corinna Lednicky.
Survivors include her husband, Clem, of Lyons, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Clem (Bubba) Lednicky,Jr. and wife, Sheryl, of Caldwell; daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra and Larry Landrum, Joan and Jim Davenport, all of Caldwell, Julia Hruska, of College Station; sisters, Ardell Neelen of Wharton, and Dorothy Belinowski of Willis; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, nieces, Shirley and Joe Lopasky of Willis, Sharon and Mike Hoover of Victoria, nephews, Larry and Jan Belinowski of Willis, John and Cathy Belinowski, of Conroe, Donald and Wanda Belinowski of Willis and Mark and Gloria Belinowski of Willis.
The family requests memorials be made to the Snook Brethren Church P.O. Box 247 Snook, Texas 77878.
