Michael West Obituary

May 7, 1959 - May 27, 2009

Michael LeRoy West, 50, of Iola, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Bedias.

Services are set for 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bo Keithley officiating. Interment will follow at 3 pm. at Roberts Cemetery in Troy, Texas.

Michael was born on May 7, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Whetstine West.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie Sanders, of Waco; son, Terrence LeRoy West; daughter, Rachel West; father, Joseph LeRoy West, all of Waco; brother and sister-in-law, Gary Linn and Regina West, of Lott, Texas; sisters and brothers in laws, JoAnn and Frank Cromeans, of Lott, Texas, Anita Ann and Terry Rhodes, of Kansas City Kan. and Beth Ann and Gary McMurtry of Troy, Texas; 10 nephews, two nieces, six great-nephews and five great-nieces.

Pallbearers will be Jason Sheffler, Josiah Sheffler, Cody West, Jeff Davis, Brian Dear, Shaun McMurtry, John Stansbury, Darryl Rice, Rusty Garner, Robert Borden, Dennis Kildare, Scotty LaSalle, David Snook and Hal Stucky.

Southern Heritage Funeral Home of Bedias is in charge of arrangements.

I worked with Mike for about 4 years and he always had a good story to tell and would give the shirt off of his back if he thought he could help. I have thought of him often over the last few years and and going to miss him...
