A Memorial Service for Nell J. Langford, 83, of Somerville is set for 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. the morning of the service. Mrs. Langford died on November 23, 2015 in League City, Texas. Nell was born December 30, 1931 to Loyd Leslie Putman and Ollye Mae Willis Putman in Elk City, Oklahoma. Nell attended the University of Houston, Del Mar College of Corpus Christi, and the Southwest Texas State Teachers College. She married Andy V. Langford in 1969 in Hitchcock, Texas. She retired from American Bank, Galveston where she served as Sr. Vice President, Head Cashier and Director. She served on the Board of the San Jacinto Girl Scout Council. Nell was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Bank Women's Assn., the American Institute of Banking and Bank Women of Houston. She was listed in the Who's Who of American Women 1983-1984. She's lived in and was very active in the Burleson County community since 1983 where she worked for the Water Office and served on the Birch Creek Forest Maintenance and Water Boards. Nell is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Davis and wife Marilee Scott of Houston, Rob Brundrett and wife Brenda of Manvel, Texas; daughters and son-in-law, Joy Anne Eaton of Bryan, Texas, Kelley Davis Krenek and husband Larry of League City, Texas; brothers, James Putman, Robert Putman; sister, Shirley Pursley Hamilton; daughter-in-law, Mary Langford of The Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Stephen E. Eaton, Christopher J. Eaton, Kerrie Krenek Trueheart, Katherine Langford, Audrey and Rustin Goodgion, John Anthony Brundrett; great grandchildren, Jenna Brooke Trueheart, Olivia Goodgion; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Andy V. Langford; her parents; sons Drew Langford and Randy Brundrett; brother, Billy Putman, and sisters, Patricia Wiggins, Loydiene Simpson, and Marjory Sawyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Krenek, Stephen E. Eaton, Christopher J. Eaton, John Anthony Brundrett, and Loren Chmill. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
