Ronnie Knox Obituary

Knox, Ronnie Dean

October 3, 1951 - April 17, 2024

Ronnie Dean Knox passed peacefully on April 17, 2024 in College Station, Texas. Ronnie was a kind, loving son, brother, father, husband, and friend and a patriotic United States Marine who served his country with honor. He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back while expecting nothing in return, simply for the sake of helping someone in need. He enjoyed life, his Bud Light, Nickelback songs, and was always the life of any party.

Ronnie was born in Marshall, Missouri on October 3, 1951 to parents, Mildred (Richardson) Knox and Alvin Knox. He went to high school in California, Missouri prior to joining the Marine Corps. In his early teens, Ronnie was a drummer in Saturday's Revue, a band which had enough notoriety to make a television appearance. He worked over fifty years, driving millions of miles, as an OTR truck driver.

During his active duty, he served as Military Police with an honorable discharge in 1975. He then married Sherri (Kimsey) Sieckman and became a proud father to her daughter, Theresa Lynn. Mr. Knox worked hard all his life to care for his child and family. He was an owner-operator and traveled all over the United States. He always said he came to Texas as soon as he could, settling in the Brenham area.

He eventually met his wife, Karen Cabada, in Bryan, Texas at a Kettle restaurant, and they married on August 3, 2018. Ronnie worked for LSPT/Berkshire Hathaway for 15 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed listening to music, nature, coffee, and sharing laughter with anybody around; he brought fun and his Camel cigarettes to every occasion. Ronnie fought cancer twice, ultimately passing after a brief hospital stay related to Pancreatic Cancer.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Theresa Lynn (Knox) Fiegenbaum.

Ronnie is survived by his siblings, Curtis Knox of Phoenix, AZ, Kenny Knox and wife Susie, of Prairie Home, MO, Treva Stephens and husband Glenn, of Peoria, AZ; and LaVonda Richardson of Smyrna, TN. He is also survived by his wife, Karen, and her children, Adam Kolinek, Erin Walls and husband Bric, Linsey Robles and husband Josh, all of Texas; grandchildren, Sherri D. Croka, Sara Croka, Jess Croka, Nick Croka, Maddox Smith, and Rinley Bell Robles; and great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Kota, Payden, Colbie, Jaxon, and Evelyn.

A memorial service will be held at the Hillier Funeral Home in College Station, Texas on April 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. and a later service will be held in Missouri.

Private interment will be at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.

To honor Ronnie, the family suggests casual dress (blue jeans are welcome) at both services. Memorials can be made to a cancer or diabetes research organization or animal shelter of your choice.

I'm a little late with this, but just saw Ronnie's obituary. I drove for Conagra and Ronnie and ran several miles down the road back when he was in Marshall. Always had a blast being around him. It saddens me to hear of his passing. Sorry for your loss, you lost a good one.

I never met you and while I know your in heaven now so you won't get this message I want to just say that I am grateful for your military service though that's not what defines a person it is something very very special and good to do to serve your country. God is good.
