Ross Glenn Obituary

Glenn, Ross Michael

December 17, 1993 - October 9, 2024

Ross Michael Glenn was born on December 17, 1993 and was called home to heaven on October 9, 2024. Ross was born and raised in Bryan Texas, which he always knew was his home.

From just about the moment Ross could walk, and perhaps even before then, he was on the move...looking for adventure by mainly playing outside, mostly with his "biiiigggggg trucks". Ross quickly made friends with just about everyone he encountered, and he valued all the fun times. It became quickly evident that Ross had an athletic ability, which he devoted to little league baseball, middle school football and then proudly playing varsity football for Bryan High. Although he was athletic, Ross was definitely not known for his speed which led one of his little league coaches to nickname him "Diesel" due to his knack for leisurely trotting around the bases after a big hit. Little did we know that nickname would stay with Ross throughout his life and eventually served as a perfect reflection of what would become his professional passion.

Following graduation from high school, Ross journeyed to find what he wanted to do professionally. As he told us many times, "I don't want to sit in an English class learning Shakespeare when I really want to be out on a tractor." That mindset led him to working at the TAMU Animal Science Department's Research Facility and then at the Equine Complex. It was those experiences that led Ross to pursue training in diesel mechanics. He was a two-time graduate of the Universal Technical Institute where he was a top student and the recipient of numerous accolades and awards. Upon graduation, Ross began employment as a diesel mechanic with specialization on big rigs with Schlumberger in Midland, TX. After a year out yonder, Ross was recruited by Kenworth and eagerly relocated to Houston. Because of the stellar reputation Ross quickly earned for his expertise and strong work ethic, he was recruited by and accepted a position with Peterbilt also in Houston. Most recently, Ross was still in Houston as a lead mechanic with Green for Life. It is easy to say that Ross truly had a gift for his chosen path and he excelled in following his passion.

Ross was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Although he may not have been very vocal about his faith, it was the foundation of all he did and he relied heavily on letting God guide him throughout his life.

Ross loved to hear and tell a good joke. We are going to miss Ross's amazing sense of humor and his ability to make you laugh so hard that you couldn't catch your breath.

Ross will be loved forever by his parents, Mike and Grace, and his big brother Jeff, who Ross always looked up to and regularly sought out his advice and guidance. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandmother, Billie Glenn, aunts and uncles including Pam and Ed Best, DonAnne and Greg Williford, Bruce and Carobeth Bockhorn, and Joyce and Al Nelson, along with cousins Sarah Casey (Christian), Graham Williford (Lindsey), Lee Bockhorn (Giulietta), Laura Fiedler (Mark), Lt Col Catherine Nelson, and Elizabeth Bateman. We would also like to acknowledge Ross's dear friends Brecca Wheaton, Cheryl Meuth and his "brother from another mother", Steven Brown, and thank them for their devotion. Last but not least, we can't forget Ross's fur babies, Reba and Maddie, who were considered four-legged royalty.

We will celebrate Ross on Wednesday, October 16, beginning with visitation at 10 a.m. and a service at 11 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in College Station, TX.

Mike and Grace I just read this in the Eagle today my heart goes out to you both and the rest of the family. I loved hearing Mike talk about how he was so proud of his boys.
May your faith in God be with you and the rest of the family.
