Roy Moody Obituary

November 28, 1961 – October 15, 2009

Roy Jack Moody, 47, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009, at his home with family by his side.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A

Funeral service is set for 2 p.m. Monday, October 19, at the funeral home with the Rev. Sam Cutrone officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Roy was born November 28, 1961, in Bryan to Jack and Gladys (Lenz) Moody. He loved cooking and especially barbequing, participating in numerous barbeque cook-offs. A compassionate man, Roy would volunteer to be the head organizer for benefits for friends and family.

He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Roy will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his brothers and sister-in-law, Charles "Pete" Moody, Freddie and Karen Moody, Mike Moody, all of Bryan; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and J.R. Issa, Nancy Brewer and Connie Daniel, all of Bryan; numerous nieces and nephews and his dogs, Chocolate and Lucky.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice Brazos Valley for the all of the care they gave to Roy.

My deepest thoughts are with the whole MOODY family, as I've known most of you most of my life. Roy will be greatly missed by us all. He was a good friend to me and could cheer me up in my sadest times, like when I lost my brother. Just remember that he's out of pain and is with your parents now.
