Thomas Allen Wallis
Mar 14, 1945 - Sep 17, 2025
Thomas Allen Wallis, of Bryan, Texas, went to heaven on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was 80 years old.
Tom was born in Bryan, Texas, to Thomas Floyd and Anne Louise Wallis on March 14, 1945. He was a proud member of Texas A&M University Class of 1967 and earned his MBA the following year. He married his wife, Annette; and they were blessed with three children. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he achieved the rank of Captain. Following his honorable discharge in 1971 Tom returned to Texas and began a distinguished career in public accounting. In 1980, he co-founded Ingram, Wallis & Company, P.C., where he served as a trusted advisor to individuals and businesses, both locally and across the country. Tom was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of CPAs, and he served the profession through various leadership roles, including as President of the Brazos Valley Chapter of CPAs and as a member of the AICPA Ethics Committee and the Technical Standards Committee.
In addition to his professional success, Tom was deeply committed to his community. He served as President of the Brazos County Industrial Foundation, the St. Joseph Foundation, and the Rotary Club. He was also involved with the Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center, Bryan Cemetery Association, Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce, and committees within the Bryan Independent School District. His service and leadership touched many lives in the Brazos Valley.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 57 years, Annette Wallis; three children: Robert Wallis and his wife Kelly, Dr. Deeann Wallis Schultz and her husband Lee, and Dr. Michelle Hurst and her husband Shaun; eight grandchildren: Matthew, Katherine, Micah, Thomas, Laura, Julia, Owen, and Tess; and a sister, Martha Poole, along with numerous extended family and friends.
Tom was known for his commanding presence and quick wit, always ready with a story or a joke. He had a deep passion for sailing and he loved sharing his culinary skills as a proud member of a local gourmet club. Cooking was not just a hobby for Tom; it was an art form he enjoyed sharing with family and friends, particularly during his famous annual crawfish boil and holiday meals. He was also known for bragging about his children and grandchildren. His faith was central to his life. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bryan and he held a deep and studious commitment to his beliefs. One of the highlights of his life was a trip to Israel, where he experienced the historical context of the scriptures.
In his later years, Tom cherished his time with his Texas A&M Sul Ross group, enjoyed tours with the TAMU Chancellor's Century Council, and dined out frequently with family.
Tom's military honors included the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. He was known for his sharp intellect, high expectations, and generous spirit. His legacy of service, both professionally and personally, will be remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at Christ Church in College Station on Tuesday September 23. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m with the funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Tom's generous spirit, the family asks that donations be made on his behalf to the
