To the family of Kyle--Words can't express the sadness I have felt since learning of Kyle's death. He and my son Kevin attended Pickens Middle School and Pickens High School together. I remember him as being such a nice young man, always polite and caring. Just know that you all are and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as you deal with this loss.

I remember playing with Kyle in the Midnight Sun tournament a few years ago. We were ridiculously short-benched, but we almost won the tournament, largely due to Kyle's efforts. A fun guy who loved hockey. He will be missed.

Amelia and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Kyle was a fine young man and I saw him occasionally in Anchorage. We always chatted. He had become quite a young man, but I do remember carrying him into your house at night in Nome as he slept. I remember picking him up for school.

Just remember no one is dead until they are forgotten.

Hugs,

Thom

Dearest Kyle,
You will never be forgotten my sweet. I recall the early days when you came to live with your grandparents, John and Alvilda Dickerson. You were an adorable little boy who was "full of vinegar"...such a sweetheart. Even at an early age you saw fit to be my five year old boyfriend!

You joined Alvilda and I each day as we walked the three miles around Geist, University, Parks Highway and Airport Road. We walked all summer and into fall. We watched as the "fireweed" crept up to its tips and we watched the geese and Sandhill cranes return home as a nip in the air reminded us of impending winter days to come.

It seems impossible for you to grow up so quickly, but you did. You grew into an intelligent and caring young man.

You stood so tall and proud at your grandpa's 90th birthday party in Fairbanks. I had difficulty believing it was the same little 5 year old. You were a tall and strinkingly handsome young man. Me heart filled with pride just looking at you. You were after all, my little 5 year old "boyfriend"
...
Our hearts ache because you are no longer here to give us hugs and smiles, we will have to wait until we see your beautiful face again.

Kyle, please know that you are loved and missed our little dear one, until we meet again...
all my love.
