Shona Leigh Parkins

Born: December 25, 1972 | Died: September 25, 2025

Shona Leigh Parkins, age 52, passed away Thursday at Johnson City Medical Center with her mom and son by her side.

She was born December 25, 1972, to Janie Lowe Munsey and the late Clinton D. Collins.

Shona was a kind, smart, and outgoing person. Often a bright spot at gatherings for her ability to talk to anyone and witty sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her fur baby, Ferris. She loved going on family vacations, where she would look for seashells, swim, and ride roller coasters with her grandchildren.

In addition to her father, Shona was preceded in death by her stepfather: Eddie Munsey; grandparents: Mayford and Mamie Lee Lowe, Vollie and Faye Collins; uncle: Freddie Lowe.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her mother: Janie Munsey; son: Nick Laughlin and wife, Amber; grandchildren, who she adored: Olivia, Sophia, Caleb, and Alyssa (Tyler); two great-grandchildren: Harper and Willow; fur baby: Ferris; uncle: Steve Lowe; special uncle: Teddy (Cheryl) Humbert; aunts: Maxine Collins Bradley, Marcenne and Harold Gregg; special great-aunt: Brenda Knight; several cousins and close friends, including her two best friends: Lori and Cookie.

Private graveside services for the family will be held at at later date.

Shona had a love for animals and regularly gave to the ASPCA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be made to the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society.

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
