LeRoy Nagel Obituary
He was born on Aug. 15, 1923, in St. Marys, to LeRoy and Clara (Pfeiffer) Nagel.
He was first married to Joan Van Cleve, who preceded him in death. He then married Mary Lou Martin, who died Dec. 1, 2011.
Survivors include his sons David Nagel of Bowling Green; Kim (Kay) Nagel of Union City, Tenn., Kevin (Jodi) Nagel of St. Marys,11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Clara Nagel; infant daughter Elizabeth Ann Nagel; his son John "Noodle" Nagel; his sisters Dolores Horn, Onolee Chamberlain and Mary Ellen Mc Intire.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1943). He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.
Mr. Nagel was a retired developmental production employee from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 323 and Eagles Lodge Aerie 767, all in St. Marys.
His favorite pastimes included bowling, golfing, and playing cards with his buddies.
LeRoy was a devoted member of the local Eagles Lodge.
His tireless efforts to support and improve their lodge led them to dedicate "LeRoy Nagel Hall" in his honor.
Funeral rites are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, 210 N. Wayne St., in St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki officiating.
Burial, with full graveside military funeral honors, will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High St. Chapel) in St. Marys.
