Steven McMurray Obituary
Steve is survived by his children, Jim (Anna) McMurray, St. Marys, Lisa (Aaron) Suchland, New Bremen, Kevin McMurray, St. Marys, and Brian (Krista) McMurray, St. Marys; a sister, Kay Brock, St. Marys; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Linda McMurray, Moulton.
He is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christa McMurray; two brothers, Bob Senger and Mike McMurray; a sister, Gloria Dzalamanow; and a brother-in-law, Dick Brock.
Steve proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1960 – 1964. He retired in 2008 from Crown Equipment Corporation in New Bremen after working 43 years as a machinist.
He was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship, St. Marys and St. Marys American Legion Post # 323.
Steve was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to many and will be deeply missed by all.
A memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Calvary Christian Fellowship, St. Marys, with Pastor Dane Gilmore officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service at the church during the hours of 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Lake Hospice, 1122. E Spring St., St. Marys, Ohio 45885.

I remember when I was a kid of 12 or 13 that Steve liked a song called "Cinnamon Cinder". He was home on leave from the Navy and Steve and some friends (including my sister) were at the old Anchor Club out on route 29 and that song was playing on the juke box. Steve would wait for a certain part of the song when the words 'it's a very nice dance' would play and Steve would chime in and sing those words. Steve was wearing his Navy uniform and I thought he was a really cool guy. He offered me my first cigarette - I don't remember if I accepted his offer or not but I probably did.
