Barbara Bull Obituary

FRANKLIN - Barbara Jenkins Bull, 75, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, following outpatient surgery in Gainesville, Georgia.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 54 years, Bob Bull; son, Brian and his wife, Shalon; daughter, Bryce and her husband, James; her cherished granddaughters, Caroline, Charlotte, Abigail and Adeline; her "best friend" sister, Sharon and her husband, Issy; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Born March 6, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, Barbara grew up in Essex, Maryland. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and began her career teaching middle school in St. Mary's County, Maryland. She paused her teaching career to raise her children before the family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1980.
Barbara excelled in the corporate world, carving out an exceptional career with Computer Power, Inc., which was later acquired by Alltel Information Systems and Fidelity. Her determination, no-nonsense attitude and compassion for her colleagues propelled her to the position of senior vice president. She was a trailblazer for women in leadership, advocating for breaking the glass ceiling. One of her most notable achievements was managing a joint venture in Leeds, England, where she lived for two years. Barbara retired in 2003, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of leadership and dedication.
In 2019, Bob and Barbara moved to Franklin, where they found their true home. Barbara adored the mountain views, friendly community and peaceful lifestyle.
An avid traveler, Barbara's career and personal life took her across the globe. She explored England and Europe during her time in Leeds. She and Bob enjoyed numerous cruises, including two transatlantic journeys and most recently embarked on a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. Their last trip was a journey around Iceland. Alongside Bob, she toured 49 states and 10 Canadian provinces in their RV.
Barbara loved sharing stories, trivia nights with friends and attending plays and concerts. A talented quilter, she was preparing to take her passion commercially. Her beautifully crafted quilts, gifted to family and friends, will serve as a lasting testament to her creativity and generosity.
Barbara's love extended to her pets and her loyal companion, Kricket, still searches for her.
Her life will be celebrated in Franklin at the Rathskeller in mid January.

Her jokes were always unexpected and hilarious! She and I could talk sewing and quilting for hours. She is already missed.
