Hazel Jones Obituary
Born Feb. 13, 1931, she was the youngest child of the late Tom L. Buchanan and Bessie McMahan Buchanan.
Hazel loved spending time outdoors working in her yard and participating in annual wagon trains in both North and South Carolina with her late husband, Wiley C. Jones. Hazel was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved to sew. Above all else, her greatest love she treasured was her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by bothers, Adam and Jake Buchanan; sisters, Emma Lee McMahan, Ruby Greene, Zilla McMahan, Marie Buchanan and Jessie Hall; and son-in-law, David Duvall.
Hazel is survived by daughter, Rachel Duvall; son, Wayne (Marilyn) Jones of Franklin; grandchildren, Wendy (Stephen Moore) Duvall of Franklin, Travis (Jamie) Duvall of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Jeff (Julia) Jones of Franklin; and great-grandchildren, Jared Duvall, Tanner Jones and Cooper Jones, all of Franklin and Adalyn Duvall and Eli Duvall of Chesapeake, Virginia.
The family received friends Sunday, Sept. 7, from 2:30-3:30 p.m., at Macon Funeral Home. Services were held at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel. Officiants were Pastors Keith Newell and Eddie Evans. A private burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mainspring Conservation Trust, PO Box 1148, Franklin, NC 28744.
