Jacob Bridges Obituary
Jake grew up in Kings Mountain where he enjoyed his football days in junior high and high school and treasured the friends he made on those teams.
He graduated in 1977 from North Carolina State, where he had a double major of horticulture and forestry. He built a business landscaping and cultivating an incredible array of plant life, work that he loved. Known for his laugh and his fierce loyalty to his friends and family, Jake was a strong Christian who lived his faith and loved to share his true born-again experience. Heeding the words that the apostle Paul wrote in Romans, Jake was "not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ."
Jake is survived by his mother, Kathleen Morgan Bridges of Kings Mountain; brother, William "Bill" (Barbara) Bridges of Kings Mountain; sister-in-law, Cindee Bridges of Salisbury; and numerous nephews and a niece.
A funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Rev. John Bridges officiated. Burial followed in the Mountain Rest Cemetery.

Phillip, Paul and I were always in appreciation of you Jake. You took us under your tutelage and gave us spiritual guidance that we've carried through life. We loved you my friend and were saddened when you left macon county and very saddened by news of losing you temporarily. I will see you again. Until then........
