Curtis Snitker Obituary

Curtis "Curt" Snitker, 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center. An informal Celebration of Life will be held on August 3, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Faith Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 715 38th St. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family. Curt was born on February 4, 1944 in Decorah, the son of Raymond and Geneva Flagge Snitker. He graduated from Waukon High School in 1962 and enlisted in the Army, serving in Korea. Curt then moved to Cedar Rapids where he met and married Marcia "Marcie" Crane, and they have two children. He worked at FMC and Cedarapids, Inc. until his retirement. Curt is survived by his wife Marcie; daughter Tammie (Stephen) Wells; son Scot (Michelle) Snitker; grandchildren Stephanie (Seth) Score, Taylor (Andrew) Bias, Wyatt, Keaton, Carson and Brady Snitker; great-grandchildren Emerson, Maverick, Remington and Sawyer; and beloved extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Pamela Woods, and several beloved fur babies. Curt was a proud member of the American Legion Post 298 and President of the local Korean War Veterans Association. Curt was passionate about his family, friends, and country. He enjoyed woodworking, target shooting, and fishing. He had a keen sense of humor, often colorful vocabulary, and loved talking to anyone about any subject. Curt's family would like to give a heartfelt thank-you for the wonderful care he received at Mercy Medical Center, especially Dr. Slycord and Dr. Ferroni and their staff. Marcia and Family so sorry hearing about Curt's death, I haven't seen him in years but think of our years
of traveling across the country for wrestling tournaments and Iowa wrestling matches, fishing trips and
