DAVID PHUONG NGUYEN Cedar Rapids David Phuong Nguyen, 23, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021. Visitation and funeral rites will be held Wednesday, March 10, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 4 to 6 p.m. and continuing from 8 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11. Cremation will follow the services. Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields is required. David was born Nov. 4, 1997, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Hai and Van (Pham) Nguyen. Following high school, he completed a degree in industrial maintenance. David had been working as a service advisor at MHC Kenworth. David's family was very important to him. He enjoyed cars, trucks, dirt bikes and motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson. He also liked working on houses, going fishing and boats. Survivors include his parents, Hai and Van Nguyen of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Daniel (Tiffany Luu family) Nguyen of Alpharetta, Ga., and Dale Nguyen of Cedar Rapids; grandmothers, Ren Pham and Vuong Kim Ut; unclesm Hung Pham, Phuong Pham family, Nam Pham, Hoang Pham family, Hau Pham family, Loc Pham family,and Gary McIntyre family; aunts, Loan Pham family, Tami McIntyre family, Cherilyn McIntyre and Alicia McIntyre family; close friends, Benjamin and Brecht family, Skyler and McDowell family, Rylee and Wallingford family and Sarah and Damisch family; and many more great friends. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Toan Nguyen, Gary McIntyre Sr. and Phuoc Van Pham. While flowers are welcome, the family requests that no monetary contributions be sent.
