Delmar Thibadeau Obituary

Delmar Thibadeau Sr., 85, of Anamosa, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the Anamosa Care Center. Delmar Dean Thibadeau was born on January 4, 1937 in Dundee, IA to Lester and Zelda (Fisher) Thibadeau. He attended Earlville schools and graduated from Earlville High School in 1955. He moved to the Anamosa area in 1964. He married Doris Leiser at the Anamosa United Methodist Church on July 22, 1967. He was employed as a Correctional Officer at the Anamosa Men’s Reformatory, earning the rank of Captain in 1969. He retired in 1995 after 31 years of service. Delmar’s love of sports lasted throughout his life, from playing baseball and basketball during high school, to later playing golf everyday as a member of Fawn Creek Country Club. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four brothers. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Doris; his son Delmar (Jacqueline) Thibadeau Jr., Hondo, TX; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
