Donald Krapfl Obituary

Donald Edward Krapfl, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away September 3, 2024, at his home. Donald was born August 12, 1943, in Strawberry Point, IA. He graduated from Elkader High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965. After his time in the service, he began his career at Midland Forge in 1966 as a machine operator until he retired. He met his bride, Wanda Starks, and they married on August 12, 1967. He enjoyed NASCAR races, working on cars, watching Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. He is survived by his three children, Pamala (Don) Winchester, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Susan (Leon) Krapfl-Marshall of Woodbridge, VA, and Rustin (Tiffany) Krapfl of Orland, IN, and many grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 siblings, Tom (Nancy) Krapfl, Dewitt Krapfl, Carol (Larry) Moser, and Merry (Gene) Holthaus. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, his parents Clarence and Gladys Krapfl, brother Richard Krapfl, sisters Sharon Krapfl, Wendy Krapfl, Linda Burgin, Judy Anderson, and brother Kevin Krapfl. Visitation will held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 9:30-11:00 am with service to follow at New Covenant Bible Church. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 1 pm. Please direct any memorials to Camp Courageous and Hall-Perine Cancer Center.
