Doug was my son’s guitar teacher many years ago. My son took lessons for several years and always talked about how enjoyed his lessons. Doug had a great rapport with my son who is now an adult and parent. He still to this day talks about the inspiration he gained from Doug to play the guitar, not as a chore or task, but as an enjoyable outlet. My son, who is now 32, still plays and I know that it is because of Doug’s encouragement and their many discussions about not just the guitar, but life, family, politics, nature, etc, etc..(They talked ALOT!) that my son gained such a great attitude and love of music. While he will be missed, his legacy will play on! Much love to the family. Mary Smart
