Gary L. Heiserman

Gary L. Heiserman, 81, of rural Lisbon, Iowa, graduated to eternal life on October 2, 2024. Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, October 7, 2024, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Uncommon Church, Lisbon. Gary was born March 11, 1943, in Manchester, Iowa to Frederick and LeLoie Heiserman. He attended and graduated from Lamont Schools in 1961; shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. In 1964 Gary married Marjory DeLong and they left the service in December 1965, moving to Kansas City, Mo. They moved back to Iowa in 1967, and he started working at Iowa Manufacturing Company in Cedar Rapids, from which he would retire 40 years later. Gary married Shirley Pospisil Campbell in 1990, and they would spend the rest of his life on the farm south of Lisbon. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling to visit family and living the life of, "the chicken rancher." Gary was a proud father and is survived by Cary (Lisa) Heiserman, Sara Heiserman, Stan (Julie) Campbell, Karen (Darren) Hurt, Lance Campbell, Jim (DeAnna) Campbell, and Carson (Francis Schatz) Campbell. His presence will be dearly missed by 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Those unable to attend are invited to watch the service via livestream.
