Harold Wayne McElderry, 64, of Mt Vernon, Ia passed away June 27,2024 after a motorcycle accident in La Crosse, WI. Harold was born March 29, 1960 in Perry, Ia. Son of Robert and Lorena McElderry. Harold graduated from West Branch High School in 1978. Harold was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Connie. Harold is survived by his daughter, KimberLee (Bill), sons Ian, Alex (Laura), Andrew and grandchildren Levi, Lily and Chloe Kleinmeyer. Harold (Mac) loved spending time with his family and friends, playing pool, fishing, hunting, golfing and riding his Harley. A family friendly celebration to remember "Mac" will be held at 299 Echo Drive in Mechanicsville, Ia the weekend of August 9-11, 2024. Open to all starting at 6pm Friday. There will be a memorial ride at 10 am on Saturday followed by dinner and music. On- site camping available at no cost Friday and Saturday. Breakfast served Sunday. All family and friends are welcome.

Harold was my Administrator, a pool league partner, insurance agent, but most of all, my friend.
I sent you a text the morning of the 28th and thought it was very strange that I had not heard back from you.....
Only to get a call from my sister later that evening to tell me you had passed the night before in an accident on your bike. I cried for my friend !!! For his children, family, and friends. I prayed for their peace and comfort in their loss and give my condolences to all. Then ... today I thought, he was on his Harley riding, doing what he loved. Love and miss you already.

Harold was my administrator at Crestview Acres in Marion and later was my insurance agent. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I know he will be dearly missed.
