Janette Strieder Obituary

Janette Beck Strieder, 70, of Ponder, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Janette was born September 29, 1952, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Dale and Ruth Beck. She moved to Texas in 1981, where she met and married Joe Strieder, September 1, 1984. She loved gardening and was very proud of her many, beautiful flower gardens. Janette is survived by her husband of 38 years; sons, Nick (Roni) Meek, Chad (Tonya) Meek and Bret (Shawna) Meek; siblings, Shirley Share, Linda (Neil) Potter, William (Sharon) Beck, Nathan (Terria) Beck, twin sister, Janice (Steve) Howard, Colleen (John) Bazyn, Denise Beck and Dale (Denise) Beck Jr.; sisters-in-law, Kathy Bachman, Carole Gendron and Mary (Chuck) Brandenburg; brother-in-law, Donald (Bonnie) Strieder and George Strieder; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Janette was greeted in Heaven by her parents; sister-in-law, Shirley Scurto; brothers-in-law, Ken Strieder and Don Share; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Janette's graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. May 27, at Rector Cemetery, Chelsea, Iowa. Seating is limited. If you are unable to stand through the service, please bring a lawn chair. A potluck luncheon will follow at the American Legion, 1008 Main St., Belle Plaine, Iowa. Bring a dish to share if you wish. Officiated by Nancy Walter.
