There are so many memories that I have of Coach Kim. He was the most intense and passionate person that I´ve met aside from myself. He always cared and wanted the best out of all of us. And he wanted the best for us. I remember so many times when he told me "Hlavacek, Get your drop step down!" And I remember every single time he high-fived me as I rounded third base and went to home. But what I remember most about him was how much he cared about us each as individuals and just wanted the best for us. His mom and dad were so supportive and the most beautiful people that I´ve met in my life. I can´t believe that he is already gone and I hope he´s saving me a spot on the roster up in heaven.

Sincere condolences to the family. Kim was an amazing coach and friend. I was his assistant for the Linn County Cougars and at Prairie HS.

I went to CR Jefferson with Kim and we were roommates at Iowa. At Jeff, we formed the Bleacher Bums to cheer on the teams. Engaging, terrific guy.

Kim coached me for the few years I played with the Linn County Cougars before going to HS. He was a great coach, passionate about the game and I always knew he cared about me as a player and person, even when he was chewing my butt. Lol! I saw him about 10 years back umpiring a softball game. We talked and he recognized me right away...even after all these years. My girls are finally old enough to play travel softball. I was hoping they´d get to meet the coach I respected, and talked about, so much at a tournament this year. My condolences to his family.
