Lincoln Pitts Obituary

On Dec. 1, 2022, Lincoln J. Pitts II of Columbia passed away at the age of 65. Born in Washington, D.C., he lived in the Columbia area since 1993. Prior to that he had lived in Iowa. Fueled by his love of music, in his younger days he had his own radio show. He obtained his master's degree and was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He then worked as a Director for 24 years at Alco. His job often took him throughout the Maryland, Delaware and Virginia area. He was very proud of the work he did and made a lot of friends along the way. Lincoln was often known as "Link" or "Squeaky" to those closest to him. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed passing the time fishing. Lincoln also had a love of Sci-Fi and could often be found watching Star Trek or other science fiction movies. He had an outgoing nature, and what made him happiest was being around his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Amber Dvorak-Pitts; his son Graham R. Pitts; his cousins Raoul and Ricky Daggett; as well as many loving and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lincoln J. and Jean A. Pitts.

I would like to express my sympathies to the passing of Lincoln. I really like that man he was so great to work with back here in Iowa. I sure hope Graham is still dancing. All my love for Amber and Graham. Marty Shafer
