Rodney Grother Obituary

Rodney Eugene Grother, 64, passed away suddenly October 17, 2024. A Celebration of Rod's Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Hawkeye Downs Expo Hall, 4400 6th Street SW, Cedar Rapids. Rod is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary; children, Justus Stick, Heidi Grother, Raylynn (Dean) Lee, Jesse Stick, Danny (Stevi) Grother and Jordan (Crystal) Stick; 18 grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, Gifford (Julie) Grother, Debbie (Cliff) Emrich, Rebecca (Dan) Quinby, Dennis Lange; and his beloved boxers, Luka and Steel. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Missy; parents, Clifford Sr. and Dorothy Lange; brother, Clifford Grother, Jr. and granddaughter, Layla Welch. Rod enjoyed traveling, going to the races and casinos. He loved his family very much, especially his wife and grandkids. We received the call this morning about Rodney passing away. We are deeply sad to hear this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rodney was a great man. God has one amazing Angel in heaven with him. Prayers to you all. Chuck Lange & family.
