Calvin Ruby Obituary
Henderson, KY - Calvin Ruby, Jr., 76, transitioned from earth to eternity on June 2, 2021, at the Lucy Smith Care Center. He was born in Dixon, KY to Calvin Ruby, Sr. and Rose Miller Swann. Calvin attended Douglas High School and went on to work for Alcan Aluminum for 30 years until he retired. He was a member of Seventh St. Baptist Church.
Calvin was a family man who helped his mother support the family. He took special care to look after his two sisters and later his nieces and nephews. His generosity extended beyond the family to his church and anybody else in need. Calvin was just a great guy who will be missed by all who knew him. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Westerns and UK basketball. Calvin leaves to cherish his memory, 2 sisters: Willie Lee Ruby, Sue Lenora Ruby; 2 daughters who he raised and loved as his own: Tamara R. Potts, Linda Haygan; granddaughter: Mariesha Potts; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Seventh St. Baptist Church with walk-thru visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service. Burial in Fernwood. Mason Brothers Audubon Chapel is entrusted with arrangements. Leave condolences at www.masonbrothersfs.com. A mask is required for attendance.
