Harry Lindol "Lindy" Adkisson, Jr. age 88, of Reed, KY passed away at 12:15 am, Monday, September 3, 2018, at Redbanks Nursing Home, Henderson, Kentucky.
Lindy was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elizabeth Adkisson and 2 sisters, Virginia Wilson and Dixie Smith. Mr. Adkisson was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of Reed Community Church where he had served as an elder. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 39 years of service in Evansville, IN.Survivors include:His wife of 64 years:Josephine Adkisson of Reed, KY 1 Son: Lindol Adkisson and his wife Michele of Walnut Creek, CA
1 daughter: Julia Varnell and her husband Rick of Arkansas
Grandchildren: Tyler Adkisson and wife Allana, Kelsey Adkisson, Jason, Jeffrey and Jesse Varnell, Sara, Jonah, Eli and Lucas Humel
Relatives and friends are invited to Lindy's Life Celebration from 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday and again on Thursday starting at 1:00 pm at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the funeral home with Denise Moseley officiating . Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Reed Community Church, 2068 Reed Bluff City Road, Reed, KY 42451.
