Anthony Joseph Presti
Anthony Joseph Presti passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at his home in Braidwood, Illinois, at age 22. Anthony was born in Downers Grove, IL, on April 17, 2003, the firstborn son of Dino and Kathleen (nee Fricke) Presti. Anthony brought energy, drive, and heart to every aspect of his life-from his family and friendships to his love of sports and dedication to his work.
Anthony grew up in Plainfield, IL, and graduated from Joliet West High School, where his strength and determination were evident through his involvement in football and wrestling. His commitment to teamwork and perseverance carried over to his adult life, forming the foundation of all he pursued. Known for his strong work ethic, Anthony joined the workforce early and accomplished what many only dream of-purchasing his first car at the age of 18 and his first home by 20. He took pride in his achievements and the independence he built through dedication and discipline.
A gifted craftsman and mechanically inclined from a young age, Anthony was formerly a union auto mechanic with IAMAW Mechanics Union Local 701 and was most recently employed as a union carpenter with Local 174. His passion for working on cars extended beyond just a job-it was a reflection of his meticulous nature and creative spirit. Those who knew him recognized him as a loving, handy individual with a remarkable drive and an unwavering commitment to the goals he set for himself.
Anthony will be deeply missed by his parents, Dino and Kathleen; his brother, Nicholas Steven Presti; grandparents, Frank and Dorothy Fricke; aunts and uncles, Robert Presti and Joseph (Lorene) Presti; Tara Presti; Daniel (Kelly) Fricke; and great-aunt, Kristine Walsted. He also leaves behind numerous cousins and cherished friends who will remember his kind spirit and generous heart.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmelo Presti and Karen Perry.
Anthony Joseph Presti's life, though tragically cut short, was marked by purpose, passion, and an abundance of love. His legacy lives on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him and in the lives he touched along the way.
