Barbara Lee Obituary
Died: September 27, 2025
Barbara Lee (nee Friedley), of Lemont, IL, passed away at the age of 81 on September 27, 2025. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Richard, she is survived by her daughters Debbie (Ralph) Holte and Heidi (Brad) DuPont, both of Lemont, and 2 grandsons, Ben DuPont and Jake Holte. Barbara is also survived by her sister, Susan (Friedley) Rago, of Lemont, and was preceded in death by her brother Theodore Friedley and her sister Marcia Friedley.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Lemont. Prior to marriage and starting a family, she graduated from nursing school at Rush and worked at Silver Cross Hospital. Years later she worked part-time caring for a housebound patient and then at Mother Theresa Home. She enjoyed being a member of a club of Lemont nurses from her generation for many years, and Red Hats. She was a lifelong member of the Lemont Methodist Church.
Visitation on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois Street, Lemont, IL 60439. Funeral services Saturday October 4, 2025, 9:00 a.m., at Lemont United Methodist Church 25 E. Custer St. Lemont IL 60439.
Interment at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park, Willow Springs, IL follows.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lemont Historical Society's Go Fund Me page for the restoration of their steeple. https://gofund.me/e2d0f913e

Barb was such a joy to be with. Her love of God, family and life was so evident. I mourn the loss of her joy here on earth, but am sure we will meet again in heaven.
