Barbara Polancich Obituary
Age 78. Passed away peacefully Saturday, February 16, 2008 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1947. Also involved with the Alumni Association. Retired from Silver Cross Hospital after over 22 years of service as a nurse. Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Cantigny Post VFW #367, serving as President for three terms. Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #1080. Charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Nicholas Polancich (2001); parents, Harold "Duke" and Esther (nee Wonnell) Morris.
Survived by her three sons, Dr. Robert (Barbara) Polancich of Lexington, KY, Ronald (Nancy) Polancich of Buffalo Grove, IL and Jeff (Lisa) Polancich of Naperville; seven grandsons, Craig, Scott (Claudia) and Ross, twins, Benjamin (Todd) and Jacob (Laura), and Joseph and Jack; one granddaughter, Samantha; one brother, Bill (Jackie) Morris of San Diego, CA; special friend, Fred Koenig; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Barbara E. Polancich will be Friday, February 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Rev. Matthew Robinson officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at:
