Died: July 18, 2017

Benard "Ben" D. Banas, of Elwood, passed away suddenly with his loyal dog Machete by his side, Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Age 54 years.

Survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Michelle M. Banas (nee Branigan); a son, Zachary (Kathleen) Banas; his mother, Eleanor Banas; his siblings, Brod Banas, Brian Banas, Barb Jones, Bernice Jasurda, Bon Swift and Bettie McCullom. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews

Preceded in death by his father, Stanley Banas (2006); and his brother, Bruce Banas.

Ben was born September 7, 1962 in Hinsdale, IL. He was an avid outdoorsman and a handyman. Ben was employed with Apollo Colors in Rockdale.

A memorial gathering will be held at the First Christian Church, 1824 Church St, Wilmington, IL, Monday, July 24th at 12:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be appreciated.
