Brenda Sue Humm, age 72, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away July 11, 2022 with her beloved husband and loving family members at her side. She was welcomed into heaven by our Lord with arms opened wide from the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
Brenda was born on July 14, 1949 in Elizabethtown, Illinois to the late Alfred Earl and Mary M. (Millikan) Potts. Brenda met and married the love of her life David (Sonny) Humm on August 3, 1968.
Brenda and David lived in Joliet before moving back down-home to Harrisburg, Il. Brenda worked at Rustcraft Greeting Card Factory and Burgos Pest Control in Joliet and The Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Il.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and attended The First Baptist Church in Carrier Mills, Il.
Those who knew Brenda will forever remember her as a very loving individual. Always having a huge smile on her face and a song in her heart. A woman who was truly dazzling and always a lady.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, David Humm of Harrisburg, Il., her sisters, Helen Duncan of Elizabethtown, Il., Carolyn Louise (Kevin) Heaton of Harrisburg, Il. Her brother Ronnie Dean (Evelyn) Potts of Golconda, Il., Sister in law, Patti (Jackie deceased) Potts of Harrisburg, Il. Also surviving Brenda are Marcia Slightom of Iowa, Pam (Jeff) Marcum and Edgar (Connie) Humm of Harrisburg, Il., numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Earl & Mary Potts, Sisters, Linda Kay Potts and Patricia Madonia. Brothers, Clifton Potts, Harold Ray Bebout, Jackie Potts, and Larry Potts. Mother & Father in law Edgar and Helena Humm, In laws Jean and Jerry Norbert and Judy and J.D. Vowels.
Funeral services for Brenda were held on Monday July 18, 2022 at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, Il.. Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial followed in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg,
