It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Jonas, who left us on September 12, 2025, at the age of 78, in Johnsburg, IL. Born on January 1, 1947, Brian spent a lifetime dedicated to his family and community. He was the loving husband of Judy Jonas, who will carry his memory in her heart forever. They were married on July 2, 1966, cherishing 59 years together.
Brian is survived by his wife: Judy (Mohr) Jonas; his son: Michael Jonas; his mother-in-law: Joyce (late John) Mohr; his 25 nieces and nephews; and many great, great-great, great-great-great nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Peter and Helen (Logan) Jonas; and his siblings: Eileen Eneberg, Gerry Scornavacco, Robert Jonas, and Richard Jonas.
Brian was the kind of guy who always put others first, and he did so with a smile. His 41 years at McMaster Supply Company were marked by hard work and genuine care for his colleagues. After retiring, he found purpose in giving back to the community by volunteering at the FISH Food Pantry for 19 years. His commitment to helping others was truly inspiring. He was truly a great man, who will be remembered by many as "Mr. Personality".
Brian was also an active member of the Johnsburg Community Club and the Johnsburg Oldtimers Club, where he forged friendships that lasted a lifetime. He valued community and connection, and his warm spirit touched the lives of many.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home in McHenry, IL from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, IL at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the FISH Food Pantry of McHenry, a place he held dear to his heart.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time, Judy, Mike and family. I´m so sad we won´t be there at Uncle Brian´s wake on Sunday. But Dan and I will be at the Memorial Mass on Monday.
